Industrialist urges N1trn intervention fund for steel, solid mineral

The management of KAM Industries Nigeria Ltd has appealed to the federal government to dedicate a minimum of N500 billion intervention fund? to the steel industry and another N500 billion to the solid mineral sector in the country.

While noting the contribution of the federal government into the aviation, power and agricultural sectors which has helped developed the sectors, Awojobi regretted that no single Kobo was given to the steel industry. The Deputy Managing Director, KAM Industries Nigeria Limited, Hajiya Mariam Yusuf said the "Integrated Steel Company will remove more people from the streets, thereby reducing unemployment in Nigeria".

Also speaking is the Managing Director, Bank of Industry, Mr. Waheed Olagunju, who announced that they have already supported KAM Industries Nigeria Ltd with the sum of N10 billion and that they are ready to commit more into the company.
