Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Board refunds N25.4m to 1,947 pilgrims

The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board on Monday said it had refunded a total of N25.4 million to 1,947 pilgrims who performed the 2015 Hajj.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Hajiya Fatima Abolore-Jimoh, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin that the money was made available to the Board by the Saudi Arabian authority in respect of the 2015 Hajj fare.

Giving a breakdown, she said the refund was in three categories, with pilgrims who fully participated in all Hajj rites during the 2015 exercise taking N11,321 each.

The Board secretary said that relations of 12 of the pilgrims who died at the Holy Land during the exercise were paid N167,000 for each deceased, while the three Pilgrims who were unable to make the trip received N515,000 each.

She advised the next of kins of the departed 12 pilgrims to visit the Board with relevant documents to claim the money. (NAN)
