The National Cashew Festival and Award 2016 would hold today at the Kwara state banquet hall, along Ahmedu Bello way opposite Government House, Ilorin.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary and Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Mr Sotonye Anga said the programme which would attract dignitaries from far and near would be declared open by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

It further said the programme was titled:"Cashew, a game changer for the Nigeria economy", and would also witness award for organisations and individuals that had contributed in one way and the other to the development of cashew.

The statement added that the programme which was slated for 10:00am was expected to grace by Ministers for Agriculture and Rural Development and Industry and Trade.

It further explained that the Executive Director, Diamond Bank Plc, Mr Victor Ezenwoko was expected to deliver a thought-provoking lecture on the topic, "Cashew as a game changer for Nigerian economy.

Also, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Industry, Mr Rasheed Olaoluwa is expected to deliver lecture on the topic,"unlocking financing for cashew processing in Nigeria.
