Tsaragi rejects judicial commission of enquiry

Elders of Tsaragi community in the Edu Local Government Area of KwaraState, have rejected a judicial commission of enquiry to investigate the recent communal crisis between Tsaragi and Share.

Consequently, elders of the community said that they have instituted a court action to challenge the governor's decision to establish the commission.

The elders' group, during a press conference in Ilorin, led by Dr. Abdullahi Idris and assisted by the Wali of Tsaragi, Alhaji Muhammed Haruna, at the Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, alleged that the governor was biased in the composition of the commission.

The group maintained however that the people Tsaragi community and its environs were committed to peaceful co-existence with their Share Igbomina neighbours.

In his is reaction, the senior special assistant on media and communication to the governor, Dr. MuideenAkorede, appealed to the people to give the commission of enquiry the benefit of doubt in its operation.
