The Kwara State Police Command on Wednesday said its anti-robbery squad engaged a gang of armed robbers in a shoot-out and that one of them who was in Army uniform was killed.

The police, who said the incident occurred in Kambi along Bode-Sa'adu road in Moro local government, added that another person was arrested. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO)Ajayi Okasanmi paraded the alleged receiver of stolen items at the command's headquarters, Ilorin. He said the shot armed robber died from fatal wounds.

Okasanmi said one locally manufactured gun was recovered from the deceased. "The search light of the command's intelligence and investigation department was beamed on Kambi, along Bode-Saadu road and that led to the arrest of a receiver/beneficiary of the robbery loots by name Umoru Issa", he said.
