Jubilation Galore in Ilorin Over Buhari's Victory
The Ilorin, Kwara state capital on Tuesday witnessed jubilation galore following the reported victory of the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress(APC) Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as the new president-elect of the country.
A visit of THISDAY correspondent to some of the major areas of Ilorin like Offa garage, Challenge, Geri Alimi, Taiwo, Moraba, Shango, Sabo Oke, Lanjorin, Tanke, among others, showed that people were trooping out en masse celebrating the electoral victory of Gen. Buhari.
Reports from other major towns in the state like Offa, Omu-Aran, Lafiaji, Patigi, Kaima, Kosubosu, among others, said jubilant citizens troope?d out to the streets to celebrate the electoral victory of the president-elect.
Also, some joints in the state were full with many people celebrating the election of Gen, Buhari.
Some of the celebrators who spoke with our correspondent in Ilorin lauded the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a credible, free, fair and peaceful poll for the people of the country.
They said that there was no doubt that the country would witness a new dawn in the political history of the country.
They however called on the new president-elect to work hard at ensuring the revamping of the nation's economy so as to bring positive change to the economic growth of the country.
?Also reacting, the chairman senate committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki lauded the outgoing president, Goodluck Jonathan, for conceding defeat even before the announcement of the final elections results.
