2015: Those opposing card readers are planning to rig election - Saraki

Date: 2015-02-19

The Chairman Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, lashed out at those opposing the use of the card reader during the rescheduled general elections.

Saraki through his twitter handle said those clamouring for non-usage of the card readers are actually planning to rig the process.

There are divergent views on the usage of the card readers for the elections All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party with the latter calling for its ban.

Saraki, who assured that the card reader will improve the credibility of the process, queried the opposition of the card if the motive is not to rig.

“The card reader was introduced to improve the integrity of the accreditation process and unless some (people) are planning to rig, why will they oppose (the use of the card reader)?

“Please don't disenfranchise yourself from performing your civic responsibility. Get your PVC today”, he added.
