Massive crowd receives Shagaya in Asa

A huge crowd of supporters and admirers on Wednesday received Alhaji Sherif Shagaya, the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Ilorin West/Asa Federal constituency, in communities across Asa local government area of Kwara State.

Shagaya, who visited the Alangua of Efue, Alhaji Isiaka and the Daodu of Bala, had great difficulty moving through the crowd of enthusiastic supporters who kept shouting "Shagaya nio, Shagaya nio". In places like Alapa and Bala, Alhaji Shagaya had to address the crowd from the roof of his car as it was impossible for him to come down from the vehicle.

The Alangua of Efue, who spoke in Yoruba, said that the people of the community would always welcome Shagaya as one of their own. He described Shagaya as a visionary young man who has attained what many could not achieve in a whole lifetime.

Alhaji Isiaka said: "We thank you for your thoughtfulness towards this community. We appreciate everything you have done and also hope that you will continue to keep the people of this community in your heart".

Shagaya, in his remarks, thanked the people of the community for the rousing reception and pledge to work very hard if elected to ensure a better life for all the inhabitants of the community, especially the youths and the aged.

The lawmaker hopeful was accompanied by the DG of his campaign, Alhaji Saka Akanbi Isemi, the Director General (Contact, mobilization and logistics) of the campaign, Alhaji Muftau Akanbi Oke, the DG for planning and strategy, Alhaji Kola Onimago and a host of aides.

Other communities visited include Alapa, Bala, Bakase, Temidire and Ote.
