Some members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) yesterday engaged in a free-for-all with some civilians at Gambari area of Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Sunday Trust gathered that one person was injured in the clash which cause was not known as at the time of filing this report.

However, calm had returned to the densely populated commercial area as residents and shop owners had begun their normal activities.

Spokesman of the state Police Command, Mr. Okasanmi Ajayi confirmed the clash. Ajayi said one person was injured when civilians and members of the Civil Defence had a misunderstanding at Gambari area.

He said the matter had been resolved and no arrest was made.

Meanwhile, some members of the legacy parties that formed the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday protested at the Ilofa residence of the former Governor Bukola Saraki and at the Government Secondary School near Maraba Ilorin.

One of the protesters, Isiaka Tonyi Bara, who is an aspirant for the House of Representatives' seat in Ilorin West and Asa Federal Constituency, lamented that no legacy member was considered in all the positions in Kwara Central.

They called on Saraki to correct the anomalies and expressed confidence in the leadership of Saraki to address their concern.

It would be recalled that the APC leadership in the state had promised to be fair and just to all aspirants in the party. Sunday Trust gathered that over 200 candidates were vying for 34 positions in the party.
