Kwara South Senate Seat: Political Leaders Endorse Makanjuola

Date: 2014-11-02

Political leaders in the fold of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyun, Offa and Ifelodun local government areas, constituting a federal Constituency in Kwara South senatorial district have declared their support for Hon Gbenga Makanjuola's bid to represent the district at the Senate in 2015.

The political leaders declared their support for Makanjuola, who is chief of staff to Senator Bukola Saraki, after a constituency party meeting held in Offa.

The endorsement of Makanjuola was based on his achievements in office while he represented Ekiti/Isin/Ifelodun/Oke-Ero federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

Speaking on behalf of other leaders after the meeting, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, an APC elder in Oyun local government area said the local government areas declared their support for Makanjuola because they witnessed various development programmes carried out by the ex-lawmaker and "endorsing him implies such developments will be replicated across Kwara South if Makanjuola emerges as Kwara South senatorial candidate under APC.

"Our desires align with Makanjuola's excellent performance while representing his federal constituency; the successes recorded are evident till date, we are supporting Makanjuola because we want to see such developments not only in the other constituency but in ours too."

"Our support for Makanjuola is not based on any primordial sentiments but on concrete evidences of achievements recorded in different areas of his federal constituency which have been made manifest and evident across the constituency till date," he added.

He called on all indigenes and residents of Kwara South to support the candidacy of Makanjuola for the progress and development agenda of Kwara South.
