Kwara Utd return to top flight dicey
Kwara United's quest for a return to Nigeria's top flight is now under severe and serious permutation as the Nigeria National League (NNL) Group A enters its final two rounds of matches this season.
The Afonja Warriors currently sit second on the NNL Group A standings with 46 points, and will face already relegated TEAP FC this Saturday at the Kwara State Stadium.
It would be on the last day that Kwara United would know if they would return to the premiership or campaign again next term in the National League.
As it stands, at present, on the NNL Group A standings, Ranchers Bees of Kaduna and Niger Tornadoes are the major sides that may determine Kwara United's return to the premier division.
Niger Tornadoes are currently on 44 points, and they would do themselves a lot of good should they beat already relegated Nigeria Prison this Saturday in Abuja.
Should Niger Tornadoes get a win this Saturday in Abuja, then it means Kwara United must win their last game at Ranchers Bees to have any chance of promotion or wait till next season to take a shot at winning promotion to the Premier League.
Kwara United could be in for a difficult game on the final at Ranchers Bees, who are also in with a chance of winning promotion to the apex league.
Ranchers Bees are also on 46 points, and sit in fourth place on the standings with their next game away at Supreme Court in which Fatai Osho has vowed that his wards would teach the Bees some football lesson.
Some are even clamouring that the NNL board must monitor the duel in Abuja between hosts, Nigeria Prison and Tornadoes so as to avoid any foul play.
Already, Wikki Tourist have secured promotion back to the top flight, and the fight for the second ticket in Group A is among Kwara United, Niger Tornadoes, Ranchers Bees and Plateau United.
