A driver with Dangote Cement Company, Tanimu Shuaibu, who allegedly caused a collision with a commercial bus which resulted into the death of a passenger, has been arraigned before an Ilorin Magistrate Court.

The 40-year-old accused of Oba Jana, Lokoja, Kogi State, was brought before the court on a one-count charge of causing death by dangerous driving, contrary to Section 23 of Road Traffic Law (RTL).

The accused been the driver in-charge of Sino trailer with registration number BUJ 23 XA on September 7, 2014 allegedly drove dangerously along Ajase-Ipo Road, after ARMTI Bridge, Kwara State, without due consideration to other road users. The accused was said to have left his vehicle on the highway at night without any traffic signs, which caused an on-coming Hiace bus with registration XB 643 FUF driven by Asimiyu Afolabi of Offa-Garage to hit the trailer from the rear.
