INEC to distribute PVCs in 43 units in Kwara
The Independent National Electoral Commission in Kwara State says it will on Oct. 2 begin the distribution of Permanent Voters' Cards that were not initially printed in 43 units of the state.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Chief Timothy Ibitoye, announced this in a statement on Sunday in Ilorin.
The statement by Mr Jacob Ayandam, INEC Deputy Director, Voter Education and Publicity, said the distribution only affected those units where cards were not available in August.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that 43 registration units across the state did not have their PVC printed for distribution when INEC began the exercise in August.
It said the PVCs in 10 out of the 12 Registration Areas of Ilorin West and Unit 1 each in Edu, Offa and Ifelodun local government areas, were ready for collection.
The statement advised those who had not collected their cards to do so as INEC would not allow anybody without the PVCs to vote during elections next year.
He said INEC offices across the state would be opened from Mondays to Fridays during working hours, except at public holidays, for the collection.
