Ahmed Presents N115 Billion Revised Budget
Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed yesterday presented a revised 2014 budget of N115 billion to the state House of Assembly for consideration and passage into law.
The governor's request was contained in a letter to the House read by the Speaker, Mr Rasaq Atunwa, during yesterday's sitting.
According to the letter, the revised budget represents 11.3 per cent reduction of the previous budget which was N130 billion.
Daily Trust reports that the revised budget is coming nine months after the original appropriation bill was presented in December, last year.
The governor urged the House to give the bill accelerated attention. The bill was forwarded to the Rules and Business Committee of the House for further action.
The governor in another message, requested the legislature to pass the Education Law Amendment Bill 2014 into law.
The bill, among other objectives, seeks to allow transfer of privately owned schools to the state government.
