Press Release: Kwara APC hails ruling on defected lawmakers.
We hail the ruling delivered by Justice A.R. Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja today. The ruling states clearly that the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and/or its party chairman has no such authority to declare the seats of defeated lawmakers vacants. The position of the law is clear, only the Court has such powers to declare seats vacant.
With the ruling, the rule of law we yearned for, has been sustained. And the judiciary has proved to be in tandem with the wishes of Nigerians.
The leadership of APC in Kwara State views today's ruling as commendable and salute the defected lawmakers for despite these distractions have continued to exercise their constitutional roles for the betterment of Nigeria.
Alhaji Sulyman Buhari,
Interim Publicity Secretary, APC, Kwara State.
