Igbomina urges delegates to live up to expectation
President, Orisun-Igbomina, a socio-cultural group of the people of Southern part of Kwara State, Chief Gbenga Awoyale, has urged delegates to the National Conference to justify their nominations into the programme by deliberating on issues that will proffer solutions to problems lingering in the nation.
He also described the convocation of delegates at the inauguration ceremony as a monumental achievement for President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration, noting that there is really unity in Nigeria's diversity.
In a statement made available to Nigerian Pilot in Ilorin, Chief Awoyale commended President Jonathan for responding to the yearnings of the Nigerian populace for dialogue on national issues with a view to bring about a new Nigeria.
The Igbomina chieftain also noted that the willingness and enthusiasm demonstrated by Nigerians towards the conference has attested to the high regards they accorded the president and appealed to delegates to utilise the singular opportunity in bringing about enviable changes in the administration of the country.
While expressing confidence on the sustenance of Nigeria's unity, Chief Awoyale enjoined Nigerians irrespective of their religious beliefs and cultural/ethnic affiliation, to keep hope alive and support the conference in its arduous task of correcting the mistakes of the past.
He however emphasised that the conference is prone to criticisms by its critics, warning that this should not deter them from performing their roles diligently as majority of the people are looking forward to a better future for the country through their meaningful deliberations.
