Kwara agency impounds 6,132 vehicles
The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Agency (KWARTMA) has said that it impounded 6,132 vehicles in 2013. The Assistant General Manager, Operations of the agency, Alhaji Mustapha Abdulraheem said: "We succeeded in impounding 6,132 vehicles in 2013, although people have a narrow perception that we impound more motorcycles.
This is because they are more on the roads than vehicles. The easiest job in Nigeria today is Okada riding and these people know nothing about traffic rules and regulations, thereby committing all sorts of crime." He said the agency would extend its services to other towns across the state to restore sanity on the roads and reduce the rate of accidents.
