The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) zone 8, Lokoja, Christopher Dega has expressed his displeasure over the recent increase in crime rates in kwara state, especially the recent attacks on police stations and the bank robbery that took place in Offa where lives were lost.

The AIG stated this during a stakeholders meeting with Political organizations and other stakeholders at the state government banquet hall in Ilorin. He noted that the Nigerian police force will not relent in its efforts to combat crimes in the state.

While speaking with the representatives of political organisations, Dega advised politicians in the state not to use provocative languages and inflammatory remarks during their electioneering campaigns and to always notify the police ahead of any political party programmes.

Royal Times correspondent reports that the police chief however reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Police force to work and co-operate with the people regardless of their religious, political and social affiliation in order to provide law and order.
