NUJ advocates for massive youth employment
The chairman of the kwara state council of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Mallam Abiodun Abdulkareem has advocated for massive youth employments in a bid to increase economic development and to alleviate poverty in kwara state.
Mallam Abiodun stated this in Ilorin when he led a courtesy visit to the new executive members of the Ilorin Descendant Progressive Union (I.D.P.U).While congratulating the union for conducting a free and fair election that ushered in great men who would benefit the state, Abiodun noted that if decent jobs were offered to Nigerian youths, it will help to attain a better life. He however used the opportunity to solicit for the support of the union to the fort coming 2014 press week activity of the Nigerian Union of Journalist.
Responding on behalf of the new executives, the National president of Ilorin Descendant Progressive Union, Alhaji Abdulhamid Adi commended the efforts of the kwara N.U.J noting that the visit would be the first of its kind .While commending the efforts of the kwara state government, Abdulhamid reiterated the efforts of the union to further protect the interests of the emirate and to support the government.
Royal Times reports that the chairman on behalf of the union however promised to play its role in the reduction of youth unemployment while giving support to the 2014 press week activity.
