PDP will soon sink - Saraki
The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Bukola Saraki has described the leadership of the PDP as dictatorial who believe in unilateral decision.
Addressing his mammoth supporters at the Charity Home, Ilofa Road, Ilorin the Kwara State Capital yesterday, the former state governor described the exit of nPDP from the PDP as the beginning of the party's backwardness.
Senator Saraki explained that their defection from PDP was borne out of the need to fight for collective interest of the common people who voted them in.
Saraki who affirmed that things have now fallen down for the PDP and the central cannot hold, said the party lacks good internal structure unlike before when it was manned by people of proven integrity.
He said no right thinking politician would remain in such party that lack focus saying that the party will soon sink.
He expressed satisfaction over the merger with APC saying that APC has now become a national party with the highest number of supporters.
Saraki revealed that name registration will begin in Kwara next month, saying that the registration would further give the party ample opportunity to know who are truly supporting it.
He advised his teeming supporters not to fight anybody but remain calm and peaceful adding that no development will be achieved in an atmosphere of rancor and acrimony.
In his comment at the event, the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed pledged to continue with the good legacy left behind by the late Waziri of Ilorin, Senator Abubakar Olusola Saraki which has always been a journey to greatness and success.
Governor Ahmed said PDP crises was caused by several antithetical steps taken by the leadership of the party, decisions he described as barbaric, retrogressive and unencompassing.
He cited example of the PDP National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola's suspension from the party and failure of the party to reinstate him despite a court ruling to that effect.
Governor Ahmed said they would never associate with a party that believes in dictatorship but ready to work with party that believes in collective decision.
He however disclosed that his administration would continue to accord youths utmost priority just as he announced that his government would provide job opportunities for 6,000 youth by next month.
Also speaking at the gathering, the former PDP Chairman in the state, Alhaji Ishola Balogun Fulani; Kwara North Senatorial District Party Chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa; Alhaji Bibire Ajape; the Chairman of Ilorin West LG, Alhaji Tajudeen Sulu Oloje and a member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Ebun Owolabi all drummed support for the leader and the governor and urged party faithful to take the message to the grassroots.
