Governor Ahmed dissociates himself from a fake Facebook account
The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has dissociated himself from a fake Facebook account (www.facebook.com/abdulfatah.ahmed.754?fref=ts) asking unsuspecting members of the public to pay money into a bank account in order to secure employment with the State Government.
This was made known in a statement issued by Dr. Muyideen Akorede, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, who listed the Governor's authorised Facebook Account as www.facebook.com/Saimaigida.
"Governor Ahmed has never asked anyone to pay money to gain employment with the State Government. The Government's youth empowerment scheme, Quickwin, is free to all qualified youths residents in Kwara and does not require any payment from applicants.
"Governor Ahmed warns the public to desist from any dealings with this fictitious Facebook account which has been referred security agencies for investigation and possible prosecution."
"He urges the public to remain vigilant and report such perpetrators to the security agencies. Governor Ahmed said the Government remains committed to providing meaningful jobs to unemployed youths in the state, and will duly inform the public about any employment opportunities via appropriate channels".
