Don't cripple our Economy, Orisun Igbomina warns KWSG
The Spokesperson of the Orisun Igbomina, Mr Olusegun George Olusola, stated this in a statement issued in Ilorin yesterday. He condemned the State ?government for requesting the newly upgraded monarchs in the state to contribute money for their coronation which will come up soon as well taxing public office holders to fund its failed campaigns, even though, they have not been paid their allowances in the last three months.
?The group also described the action as a gross fraud and complete failure on the part of the APC led government stressing that Kwarans should resist and reject the attempt to cripple the entire facet of the state economy.
?"We are also aware of the ways and manner the APC government is taxing all parastatals and agencies for money to fund its campaign. We therefore warned them not to go bankrupt and live within the available legal means and income", he added.
The group however expressed hope that with the low turn out of electorates at the APC campaign flag-off and tours despite the cruel mobilization is a clear indication of total rejection of the party's inordinate ideologies aimed at mortgaging and crippling the entire system with no cognizance attention to the yearnings of the people.
"However, ?we made bold to state that collection of money from councillors, supervisory councillors, local government chairmen, Special Advisers and Assistants as well heads of boards and parastatals for campaign is not only barbaric and condemnable, but it is also ungodly to the wellbeing of the people of the grassroot."
He however urged Kwarans to always ask the APC campaign team of their achievements in the las?t four years especially before the fall in federal allocation as well as the current financial status of the state. While the Kwara State government is eagerly waiting for the next federal allocation to organize the APC presidential ?campaign in the state, we urge workers to be at alert and resist all forms frauds and reckless spending that can further affect payment of their salaries.
