50,000 candidates jostle for admission into Kwara Poly
This was disclosed by the Deputy Rector of the institution, Afolabi Ajibola in a chat with Pilot Education last Wednesday.
While decrying the high number of admission seekers in the country, he admitted that the institution could not admit beyond its carrying capacity especially for its HND programmes.
Ajibola explained that the institution instructed candidates to sit for the post JAMB examination in various cafes across the country to check the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease.
“We are going to base the admission on the carrying capacity of the institution; we will not admit more than we can take.
“Some of the candidates would be given part- time admission as not everyone of them can be admitted for the full- time programme," he disclosed.
The deputy provost reiterated the ban on sales of handout in the institution, adding that any lecturer caught would be dismissed.
“We have outlawed the sales of handout in the institution. The public and students, parents need to help us by reporting any lecturer we can only act on information we have,” he stressed.
