Gov Ahmed approves N120m as scholarship.

The Kwara State Executive Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed has released N120 million to the state scholarship board as bursary allowances to students of the state origin in higher institutions.

A press statement from the state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Aliyu Wahab Opakunle disclosed this yesterday in his office while speaking with journalists.

Alhaji Wahab Opakunle said that the sum was in addition to the 27 million naira released early in the year by the governor.

The commissioner commended Governor Ahmed for this good gesture adding that it will boost the morale of the students and parents.

He said the state government is fully committed to the provision of qualitative education to all indigenes in the state adding that it takes the welfare of the student with all sense of seriousness.

Alhaji Opakunle further hinted that the State Government has directed the State Scholarship Board to commence payment as from tomorrow 4th of July, 2014 starting with students of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
