"I'll improve on infrastructure if elected" - Fatigun
The chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for October 26 council election in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Mr. Akintoba Fatigun, has said that he was determined to restore education glory of the area when elected into office.
Speaking with journalists after he emerged the party’s candidate at the local government’s PDP primary, conducted in Osi town, Fatigun said he would continue with the development activities of his predecessor.
Fatigun, who contested with 22 chairmanship aspirants in the council to emerge the winner, also promised to work with his contenders to ensure unity for the parry and attract development to the area.
He also assured the people of the council of his determination to bring economic prosperity to the locality, adding that farmers would also be supported through the establishment of an agricultural cooperative society to enable them get the required farm input for increased agricultural productivity.
Fatigun also said that agricultural revolution would be designed to reduce unemployment, as well as rural urban drift among the people.
The chairmanship candidate, who said that the issue of maternal mortality would be tackled through provision of drugs revolving scheme among other provisions to support safe motherhood, urged the people of the area to mobilise themselves on the day of the election and come out en masse to ensure victory at the polls.
Also speaking, a member representing Ekiti Local Government at the state House of Assembly, Honorable Ebun Owolabi, said the emergence of the PDP candidate was rancour free in the area, adding that all other aspirants would serve as part of the campaign team of the candidate that emerged.
In his address the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, Chief Samuel Ogunrinde, said the emergence of the candidate was transparent, free and fair.
Chief Ogunrunde urged the PDP candidate to work with the state government after winning the elections to complete the construction of some roads in the area.
He also called for commencement of work at the state university campus in the area, adding that farming should be supported to reduce unemployment in the area.
