Kwara Utd hails NFF's decision

Date: 2012-03-26

KWARA United has saluted the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the decision for its Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Week 12 match to be replayed in Ilorin behind closed doors.

The Ilorin club was in the first instance banished to Abuja following crowd trouble during its match against Sunshine Stars.

Kwara spokesman Olusola Ajide told MTNFootball.com that the organising and disciplinary committee of the NFF have proved their credibility by the decision to have the game replayed.

"We appreciate the judgement of the NFF organising and disciplinary committee on our appeal. We commend them for their credibility and stance on justice and truth," Ajide remarked.

“The match commissioner and other officials were able to identify the root cause of the problem during the game against Sunshine in Ilorin. We know that encroachment of the pitch by the fans is against the rule and we promise such a thing won't happen again.

"The punishments handed the offenders will serve as deterrent and we now know that it is no more business as usual in the Nigerian league." Kwara United will therefore host Jigawa this weekend at the Ilorin Township Stadium.

"There is no place like home. We have a good team and we will go all out for victory. Playing home away from home is costly but thank God that is over now," Ajide added.
