Kwara United coach unhappy with draw against ABS

Date: 2013-07-09

Kwara United coach, Samson Unuanel, has descirbed his team's 0-0 draw on Sunday with city rivals  Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC as a setback.

The draw with ABS meant that Kwara United could not move above their current position of third position in the Nigeria Professional Football League, having amassed a total of 34 points from 21 matches., while ABS is 15th with 26 points also from 21 games.

Unuanel, was however optimistic that they would capitalise in other subsequent games,to push for the title and consolidate on a continental slot.

"A draw at home; very bad. I don't like it but that is a derby for you," he told the  News Agency of Nigeria.

The coach however alleged that some people in Kwara State are working against the team,to ensure that they falter by the side and not achieve anything this season.

"We are working here and there as a team, but some people in Kwara do not want this team to go continental."

"But there is no problem. Let me tell you they are planting bad things in the minds of the boys which will never go down well with them as footballers," he said."

He equally took a swipe at ABS,adding that they should commit the same energy they play Kwara United with, when playing other teams in the league.

"People should tell Bukola Babes it is not Kwara United alone that they should continue to play in the league."

"When they want to play Kwara United, they come all out. Some people support them and before you know it, they will think they have a good result," he said.

Meanwhile ABS currently lies 15th on the log, with 26 points from 21 matches played so far in the league.
