CIBN Signs MOU With 3 Universities And Polytechnics

The Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIBN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three universities and three polytechnics that would enable their respective undergraduate and graduate students sit for particular levels of the institute's professional examinations.
The universities are: the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State; Bowen University, Iwo, Osun state and Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state. The polytechnics include: Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun state; Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara state and the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
The partnership, according to CIBN's President and Chairman of Council, Mr. Segun Aina, who spoke during the ceremony in Lagos, allows graduates of Banking and Finance of partnering institutions to be examined in only a few subjects in the institute's professional banking examinations, to qualify as professional bankers.
He said: "All Banking and Finance undergraduate students of the partnering university must register with the institute while in their 100 level and are qualified to commence the writing of the examinations on successful graduation." The other phase, which is known as the 'Top Up,' caters for Associates of the Institute who desire a first degree in Banking and Finance, to be admitted on a part-time basis for a maximum of two years, to write some subjects in the university examinations to enable them graduate.
