Opinion: Kwara Minnows Swallowed by PDP

The progression of PDP in Kwara is not difficult to notice based on tangible statistical facts over the years; past and recent developmental  event does not only emphasize the masses oriented focus of the party but a high level of trust and integrity among others, having kept to its campaign promises strictly without sentiment or delay. This trend appear extremely magical, beginning from the transformational leadership of Governor Bukola Saraki who laid the foundation of “New Kwara” committed to infrastructural development and economic growth in a well structured pattern across the state in a well deserved eight years in government. Of course, such shared prosperity should not stop, thus, Kwarans confidently gave their votes to ensure continuity of such development which is peaking with more development by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

In aquatic life, minnows are very small fishes in the ocean, they are characterised by lack of togetherness, weakness, indecision and they are used as fishing bait to capture bigger fishes that create impact in the ocean. No doubt, oppositions are essentially minnows in Kwara, but Kwara PDP has eventually swallowed several minnows in the state, which will lead to the extinction of minnows in Kwara political system because of the dimensional giant stride taken by Kwarans to collaborate harmoniously and make a whole. Recently, PDP seem to be going through one of the toughest phase of its ruling experience across the nation as unending war of words continue between itself and the opposition parties, every of it policy faces tough criticism from every medium available to the opposition.

Interestingly, PDP in Kwara seem to be waxing stronger and soaring very high amidst criticism as  over 700 strong members at grassroot level in Oro decamped from ACN, CPC and other parties decamped to PDP happily. Great leadership is not shaped in the absence of opposition but in the presence of it. Kwara’s excellent leadership has drawn us together harmoniously by a common goal of infrastructural, human and capital development across the state over the years to date, the state leadership has  galvanize the wills of the willing drawing clarity from spigot of chaos. Now i strongly agree, it is not about going around to stir trouble, criticizing all development by opposition- as long as PDP Kwara is honest and articulate in its delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people, it will continue to be the first and best choice of the people, second to none.

Beyond federal allocation, Kwara has been able to establish major sources of internal revenue which it uses for purposed development in the state- in a PDP led Kwara; various employment and empowerment modus have been put in place which have reduced unemployment in the state to a meaning level as Kwara has been ranked second with the minimum unemployment rate by the federal government- under PDP administration. Participatory democracy has become increasingly effective in the state used to foster development- also in a PDP led Kwara. Mamoth investment in education and health as a weapon to fight poverty and keep the people healthy at a low cost remain standard- in nowhere but a PDP led Kwara. After all, one should not be surprised about the fall in opposition camp in Kwara, the masses have a thousand and one reasons to stay with PDP, not based on promises but results created.
