Kwara Tax Regime Not Harsh - KWSG

The Kwara State Government has debunked claims that by a policy group that it's tax collection system is harsh on Small and Medium Scale enterprises in the state.

On the contrary, said Dr Muideen Akorede, Senior Special Assistant on Media Nd Communications to the Governor, the tax collection system is liberal and that the implemention makes it convenient for small businesses to pay their taxes.

Stressing that payment if taxes is obligatory on individuals, Akorede said Board Internal Rwvenue's collection system considers individual circumstances in its enforcement efforts, adding that no one had been greased or otherwise treated harshly by the board its tax collection agents.

The state government according to Akorede has only thus week held advocacy work shops on tax collection in the stare which gad the NASME and KWACCIMA, none of these recognised representatives of SME's and the informal sector had complained about the tax collection.

Akorede said that government had strengthened the economic capacity of SME through a beneficial N500 micro credit scheme
