Arewa Media Honours Kwara Health Commissioner Dr Amina El-Imam for Outstanding Leadership
Arewa Media Publications and Event Company has honoured the Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam, for her outstanding leadership quality, dedication and contributions to the development of the health sector in the state.
The award, presented under the theme "Salute to Excellence Standing to Be Counted," recognised Dr. El-Imam's achievements, initiatives and giant strides since assuming office as Commissioner for Health.
Speaking during the presentation, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Arewa Media Publications and Event Company, Prince Joshua Ayo Adeleke, said the award was based on merit and the Commissioner's remarkable contributions to healthcare delivery and human development.
He described Dr. El-Imam as a beacon of hope and an outstanding achiever whose leadership had brought positive transformation to the health sector, noting that her selflessness, diligence, competence and commitment to development had distinguished her among other nominees.
According to him, the decision to select the Commissioner was a rigorous task for the editorial board, as the award was intended to recognise individuals who had demonstrated exceptional service and excellence.
He said Dr. El-Imam's achievements had earned her recognition beyond Kwara State, stressing that her name had continued to resonate across the state, Nigeria and beyond.
Responding, Dr. El-Imam expressed gratitude to the organisation for the recognition, saying she was humbled by the award because she never expected to receive one when she assumed office.
She emphasised that the recognition was not about her alone but about the entire Kwara State Ministry of Health, the Kwara State Government and the people of the state.
"The success today is not just about Amina Ahmed El-Imam. It's for Kwara State Ministry of Health, it's for Kwara State Government, and for all the people of Kwara State," she said.
The Commissioner attributed the achievements recorded in the health sector to the strong support of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whom she described as a health-loving Governor.
She said the Governor had consistently invested in the health sector and provided the necessary support for the ministry to implement initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
Dr. El-Imam consequently dedicated the award to Governor AbdulRazaq and the First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Prof. Olufolake AbdulRazaq, in recognition of their support for the health sector.
She also commended Arewa Media Publications and Event Company for its efforts in documenting and recognising outstanding contributions to society, urging continued support for the organisation.
The Commissioner further noted that the health sector was vast and required commitment, hard work and determination, adding that she had simply focused on the work that needed to be done since assuming office.
In his vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Health, Dr. Taoheed Abdullahi, appreciated Arewa Media Publications and Event Company for recognising the performance of the state's health sector.
He said the award demonstrated that the organisation had been closely following developments in the health sector and had found the ministry worthy of recognition.
Dr. Abdullahi described Dr. El-Imam as a visionary leader whose leadership had contributed significantly to the ministry's outstanding performance.
He also commended the directors and entire management team for their support and collective efforts toward achieving the ministry's goals.
The Permanent Secretary expressed optimism that more recognitions would come to the ministry, noting that the award was a reflection of the team's commitment to improving healthcare delivery across Kwara State.
