KIK Applauds Tinubu's Approval of 9th Army Division Headquarters in Ilorin
Kwara Indigenes in Kaduna (KIK) for Renewed Hope and SYD 2027 have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the Nigerian Army's 9th Division Headquarters in Ilorin, describing the decision as a landmark achievement for Kwara State and Nigeria's security architecture.
The group said the approval reflects the President's commitment to strengthening national security and promoting inclusive development across the country.
In a statement signed by its Chairman and Leader, Nur'deen Olaitan Amodu-Ode, the group praised President Tinubu for expanding the Nigerian Army from eight to twelve divisions as part of broader reforms aimed at improving the nation's security.
According to the group, the establishment of four new divisions in Ilorin, Makurdi, Jalingo and Benin City is a strategic move that will enhance operational efficiency and enable quicker military responses to emerging security threats across Nigeria.
The group noted that the siting of the 9th Division Headquarters in Ilorin would have significant security and economic benefits for Kwara State and neighbouring communities.
It added that, beyond strengthening security coverage, the new military formation is expected to stimulate economic activities, create employment opportunities, attract investment and support infrastructure development in the state.
Describing the approval as a practical demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda, the group said it reflects President Tinubu's commitment to fairness, equity and balanced national development.
Amodu-Ode also applauded the President for approving the recruitment of an additional 28,000 military personnel, describing the decision as timely and necessary to strengthen the operational capacity of the Nigerian Army.
He said the recruitment would improve the Armed Forces' ability to protect lives and property across the country.
The association further paid tribute to officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces for their professionalism, patriotism and sacrifices in safeguarding Nigeria's territorial integrity.
Reaffirming its political position, the group pledged its continued support for the administration of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. It also declared its backing for the governorship aspiration of Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD) ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
The group concluded by praying for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for President Tinubu as he continues to lead efforts aimed at promoting peace, security and sustainable development across Nigeria.
