The Kwara State College of Islamic and Arabic Studies, in collaboration with a Turkish organisation, Nusret Educational and Cultural Company LTD, have partnered to promote peace, stability and security in Nigeria.

The duo organised the 1st Educational Seminar on the Prophetic Methodology in Building a Safe and Stable Society.

The theme of the programme is entitled: "Building Human Society: An Analytical Approach to the Prophetic Biography, A Case Study of Annur Alkhalid by Ustadh Fetullah Gullen".

In his address, the Provost of CAILS, Prof. Abdulganiy Abdussalam, stated that the programme is a seminar of very important theme on peace, stability and security in the country.

He explained that the premise of the programme highlights a book written by a Turkish scholar, Fethullah Gulen, who explored the life of the Prophet and sifted out some important lessons to be learnt by societies on peace building.

Abdussalam stated that the book titled "Annur Alkhalid", which explored the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, tasks Muslims to emulate the life and manner of the Prophet on how he promoted peaceful coexistence during his lifetime.

He commended such a laudable partnership with the Turkish company, while reiterating that CAILS would continue to contribute its quota to the development of Kwara and Nigeria as a whole.

The Provost also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the support for the college while seeking more assistance to reposition the foremost institution on Arabic and Islamic Studies.

Also speaking, the Representative of Nusret, Malam Abubakar Balarabe, described the gathering as one that promotes peace and development of the society.

"The Holy Prophet Muhammad has enjoined that peace should reign across the whole world.

"The character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad is not for only Muslims but for the entire humanity because He was sent to the whole humanity.

"The message of the Prophet is a mercy to all mankind," he said.

Balarabe described Nusret as a company whose main service focus is on organising conferences, both national and international, seminars and workshops.

He also explained that the organisation also engages in humanitarian services, including feeding the indigents during Ramadan and promotion of education.

In his presentation, Prof. AbdulHamid Badmus, the former Sub-Dean, Faculty of Arts of the University of Ilorin, stated that the programme lays emphasis on the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad and his conduct towards promoting peace and security.

Prof. Badmus stated that the life of Prophet Muhammad should be emulated in terms of improving and developing the society we live in.

"The main focus of the seminar is how we can benefit from the life of the Prophet in such a way that we will be able to develop and improve our society.

"The main focus again is to see how we can walk the talk, because as Muslims we know the Quran and the life of the Prophet.

"But we have not been able to translate the lessons learnt of his life into the human society," he said.

Also speaking, the Chief Imam of CAILS, Dr. Musliudeen Alkarawiy, lamented the rise in insecurity in the country.

He urged Muslims to borrow from the practical solutions that Prophet Muhammad deployed on conflict resolution.

Dr. Musliudeen pointed out that Islam lays emphasis on peaceful coexistence, while always promoting selfless service to the downtrodden and those in need.

He advised Nigerians on tolerance to each other, while also calling on government to ensure justice prevails in the society.

Similarly, Prof. Shuaib Ologele-Suyuti of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies enjoined Muslims to learn and imbibe the lessons of the month of Dhul Hijjah, saying that the month enjoins striving towards doing good and helping the less privileged.

He also enjoined societies to emulate the Prophet Muhammad on his methodology in building a safe and stable society.
