The Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhydeen Salman Salman, has tasked Nigerians, especially political office holders to be committed to the principles of equity, fairness, and justice to achieve sustainable nation-building.

Sheikh Salman, gave the charge whilst speaking on the topic 'Exploring the Islamic Model for Unity, Equity, and Fairness in Nation Building' at the annual Ramadan lecture organised by the Friends and associates of the speaker of the Kwara state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, in Ilorin.

The friends and associates of the Kwara assembly speaker are rooting for his emergence as first democratically elected governor of Kwara state from Kwara North since return of democracy in 1999, come 2027.

Whilst delivering his lecture, the chief imam offa who quoted conspicuously from the Qur'an and Hadith, to buttress his points, explained that the question of equity, fairness, and justice is non-negotiable in nation building.

He stressed that it is compulsory to obey the instructions of the Almighty in order to have felicity in this world and on the day of accountability.

Commenting on the leadership qualities of the honoree, Sheik Salman noted that the atmosphere and the number of dignitaries present showed that Hon. Saliu Yakubu Danladi is a leader who has led with fairness and inclusivity.

"He has solved many problems, and he has always done things with fairness and equity", he said.

The member representing Magaji Ngeri constituency, Hon. Abdulkadir Oba Magaji, in a remark, described the speaker as a good leader and a worthy successor to governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, stressing that the entire members of the 10th legislature in the state and their constituents are fully behind him for the 2027 governorship.
