A High Court sitting in Ilorin has ordered the reinstatement of Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon, representing Edu Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, months after he was suspended over allegations of contempt and breach of legislative privilege.

In its ruling, the court declared the suspension unconstitutional and directed the immediate restoration of Gideon to his legislative duties.

The court also nullified the three-month sanction earlier imposed by the Assembly and ordered that all salaries, allowances and other entitlements withheld during the suspension be paid in full.

The judgment effectively overturns the disciplinary action taken against the lawmaker and mandates his full reinstatement as a serving member of the Assembly.
