The Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kwara State Chapter, has expressed deep shock over the terrorist attack in Woro community, Kaiama.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Ilorin by the Chairperson of Kwara NAWOJ, Hajia Bashirat Ayantola-Bello, the chapter described itself as being shrouded in grief and deep sorrow upon receiving the devastating news of the brutal terrorist attack on the Woro community in Kaiama, Kwara State.

She stated: "Our hearts are broken, and our spirits are crushed by the sheer scale of this senseless violence that has claimed hundreds of innocent lives.

"We weep with the families of the victims, and our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones in this heinous act of terror.

"The pain and anguish are palpable, and words cannot express our deepest condolences."

Ayantola-Bello lamented that this mindless brutality has left a scar on the community and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.

Concluding the statement, she said: "We urge the government to take immediate and decisive action to address the scourge of terrorism and ensure the safety of all citizens.

"May the memories of the victims live on, and may their deaths not be in vain."
