Kwara Government Orders Immediate Reopening of Schools from Monday 2 February 2026
The Kwara State Government announced on Sunday that schools across the state are permitted to reopen from Monday, 2 February 2026.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, it was confirmed that school authorities have been notified of the decision. This development comes amidst continuous security operations aimed at neutralising all threats to the public, including educational institutions.
The statement noted: "The government deems the situation now to be a lot better than it was before. Even so, we continue to maintain vigilance."
Furthermore, security operations are continuing steadily to sustain the gains recorded over the past weeks, while the government works to build community resilience alongside these kinetic efforts.
