No Kidnapping Recorded as Troops Engage Bandits in Fierce Gun Battle in Kaiama LGA
Troops of the Nigerian Army successfully repelled a midnight attack launched by armed bandits on Woro community in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara North on Friday.
Armed bandits attempted to breach the village under the cover of darkness. However, they were met with a fierce response from the Nigerian Army troops, who engaged them in an intense exchange of gunfire.
Reports from the community confirmed that the timely intervention of security forces prevented disaster, ensuring that no resident was kidnapped. Calm has since returned to Woro, with residents going about their lawful businesses.
The combined security forces are currently working with community heads and other stakeholders for follow-up operations in the surrounding areas to track down fleeing criminal elements and comb the surrounding forests.
The action reinforces the commitment of the state government, as constantly expressed by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, that no stone will be left unturned to protect the lives and properties of Kwarans.
