Kwara Govt. to Provide Affordable Healthcare Services with Scheme

The governor of Kwara State, Mr Abdulfatah Ahmed has announced plans to provide affordable healthcare services to over sixty per cent of its population through its community health insurance scheme.

Governor Abdulfatah who spoke when he signed a memorandum of understanding between the state government and representatives of health insurance fund in Abuja disclosed that the programme will run from 2013 to 2017 in all local government areas of the state.

He also said that plans are underway for the recruitment of more medical personnel as well as the renovation of health centres across the state to address the needs in the health sector.

On his part, the chairman of health insurance fund, Mr Kees Storm said that it hopes to ensure that Kwara State dwellers access healthcare services at affordable rates.
