Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, has confirmed the brutal murder of housewife Esther Enemor, allegedly by her husband, Ekene Enemor, in the Egbejila community of Ilorin.

According to the CP, the incident came to light when a vigilant neighbour, Ahmed Salman, raised the alarm after seeing a suspicious man locking the Enemors' house while Esther was believed to be inside.

The man claimed to be the younger brother of Ekene, who lives in Moshe Gada village, but his explanation failed to convince Salman.

When no response came after repeated knocks, Salman noticed bloodstains on the compound's fence and wall, prompting him to alert other residents.

Police said a subsequent search of the premises revealed Esther's mutilated body, severed from the neck to the waist, with her head and arms missing.

The discovery has sparked outrage and fear in the neighbourhood, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing are ongoing.

Further search efforts uncovered additional body parts, from the waist to the thigh, hidden under a culvert, also without legs.

Police investigations led to the arrest of Ekene Enemor, who confessed to killing his wife.

"The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation," Ojo said.

He revealed that Ekene, who sustained a leg wound, later died in the hospital after receiving threats and warnings from his children and other relatives never to return home for masterminding the killing.
