Governor AbdulRazaq Confirms Collaboration with NSA to Tackle Insecurity in Kwara's Troubled LGAs
Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has revealed that his administration has been working closely with the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) and other security agencies to eliminate threats in Ifelodun, Patigi, and Edu Local Government Areas.
Speaking in Ilorin during a stakeholders' meeting with leaders from Ifelodun Local Government Council, the governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring the safety of residents to foster shared prosperity and accelerate infrastructure development.
The meeting, according to THISDAY checks, follows recent bandit attacks in several communities within the council, which have forced some residents to flee to safer areas.
Chaired by Ifelodun Council Chairman Hon. Femi Yusuf, the gathering included monarchs, clerics, politicians, youth leaders, and both serving and retired public officers.
"I assure you of our efforts to eliminate the threats," the governor said. "As we work together to make our communities safer, I want to advise that investments may be affected if we don't strike a balance in how we project our communities to the outside world."
He acknowledged ongoing collaboration with the NSA and all security agencies, stating that comprehensive measures are being taken to eradicate insecurity across the state.
Meanwhile, security forces operating in Ifelodun have reportedly killed dozens of suspected bandits responsible for recent attacks in the area.
THISDAY investigations revealed that a coordinated operation involving military firepower and local vigilantes targeted bandit hideouts around Baba Sango and Oro River near Babanla.
Multiple sources confirmed that the joint assault began on Sunday night and continued into Monday morning, significantly disrupting the activities of the criminal elements in the region.
