Kwara Health Tech Provost Attributes Award Wins to Governor's Leadership at Eyeball Summit
Mallam Jimoh Ibrahim, Acting Provost of the Kwara State College of Health Technology (KSCHT), Offa, has dedicated two prestigious awards won by the institution at the maiden Eyeball Summit in Abuja to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The summit, organised by the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticianry Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN), was held at the Musa Yar'Adua Centre in Abuja from 15-16 May 2025.
The college's Department of Dispensing Opticianry stood out, earning two accolades: an award for Optician Ibrahim Liman Moshood and the title of Best Health Educator in Dispensing Opticianry for Chief Optician Akanbi Olufemi Abdulfatai, a senior staff member.
While receiving the awards from the recipients in his office, the Acting Provost, Mallam Ibrahim, attributed the feat to the support of Governor AbdulRazaq, describing him as the college's Visitor and a visionary leader whose commitment to the education sector has fostered an enabling environment for teaching, learning, and research.
"His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, has made this accomplishment possible through his consistent investment in education," the Provost said.
He pledged that the college management would not relent in its efforts to raise the institution's profile to become a leading professional health college in Nigeria.
Speaking on the development, Mrs. Christianah Olawumi Bamidele, a seasoned academic in the College's Health Department, commended the Provost's leadership. She described Mallam Jimoh Ibrahim as a dedicated and competent administrator capable of steering the institution to greater heights.
"Kudos to the resourceful college management, staff, and stakeholders for working tirelessly to position the college as a centre of excellence in health education," she added.
The Acting Provost assured that the institution remains committed to producing morally upright, globally competitive graduates who are well-equipped to become job creators in the health sector.
