Governor AbdulRazaq's Statement on May Day Celebrations, 1 May 2025
On the occasion of International Workers' Day 2025, I extend warm greetings to men and women across both public and private sectors whose efforts drive our economy and shape the future of our society.
In Kwara State, we deeply value the contributions of our workers-civil servants, farmers, factory workers, teachers, healthcare professionals, engineers, artisans, and all sector leaders. Their dedication, resilience, and skills form the pillars of our growth and development.
I reaffirm our administration's commitment to building a Kwara where workers thrive: a state that creates decent jobs, nurtures careers, and empowers every sector to contribute meaningfully to our collective prosperity. We remain resolved to implement policies that strengthen our civil service, boost economic growth, attract investment, and expand employment opportunities.
Through targeted infrastructural and socioeconomic initiatives, our administration has maintained financial stability, ensured timely salary payments, supported entrepreneurship, and provided social safety nets. These actions reflect our commitment to responsible governance and sustainable development.
As the world of work evolves-driven by technology, automation, and artificial intelligence-we must adapt. That thinking is at the heart of our numerous initiatives: Innovation Hub, Visual Arts Centre, ICT centres, among others. It is crucial that we embrace change, promote excellence, and prepare ourselves not just for the jobs of today but for the opportunities of tomorrow.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all workers for the vital role they've played in our shared achievements. I also commend our Labour leaders for their support and partnership.
I wish everyone a fulfilling and inspiring Workers' Day celebration.
Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON
Governor, Kwara State.
