Lifeless Body Recovered from Asa River as Identification Process Begins

The Kwara Fire Service has recovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man, believed to be in his mid-40s, from the Asa River in Ilorin.

The incident was reported by officials from the Kwara State Ministry of Environment, who discovered the body floating in the river.

The Head of Media and Publicity for the Fire Service stated in a formal announcement that the deceased's identity is yet to be confirmed, and investigations are ongoing.

"Upon receiving the report, a team of firefighters was swiftly deployed to the scene to prevent potential environmental hazards. The crew successfully retrieved the body from the river.

"The recovered body was subsequently handed over to the Ministry of Environment, which is now awaiting formal identification and claims from the deceased’s family," he said.
