Speaking at the inauguration, the state Commissioner for Livestock Development, Oloruntoyosi Thomas, emphasized the government's commitment to creating sustainable economic opportunities for residents through livestock development.

She noted that the new market is a testament to the strategic collaboration between the federal government, state government, and Ilorin West Local Government to promote agricultural growth.

The Commissioner further assured that the state government will continue to work with the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development and other relevant agencies to attract more support for sustainable livestock initiatives.

She emphasized the market's role as a surveillance point to prevent the transmission of zoonotic diseases from poultry to humans.
