The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of 105 individuals in the petrol tanker explosion that occurred on Tuesday in Majia town, Jigawa State. The Forum extended its heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Jigawa, particularly to the families who lost loved ones and those who were injured in the fire.
The NGF noted the troubling circumstances surrounding the incident, urging citizens to refrain from taking advantage of petrol spills due to the extreme volatility and grave dangers involved.
“This unfortunate incident again calls attention to a need for improved safety protocols in the handling of combustible materials like petrol, including during unforeseen circumstances such as accident,” the Forum says.
“Our hearts are with His Excellency Governor Umar Namadi, the people of the state, and families involved in the incident. We ask Almighty Allaah to grant them solace at this trying time and admit the deceased to al-jannah Firdaus.”
