Date: 2024-08-20

According to a news report from People Gazette, Senator Salihu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has taken a proactive step towards empowering young people in his constituency. Through the Saliu Mustapha Foundation, 100 Kwara youths have been equipped with valuable digital skills.

This initiative, titled "Youth Digital Pathway for Sustainable Development," was organised to commemorate International Youth Day 2024. The two-day workshop, held in Ilorin, aimed to enhance the skills of participants and positively impact their lives.

Speaking via zoom, Mr Mustapha applauded the youths for seizing this opportunity and emphasised the importance of leveraging digital skills to achieve self-sufficiency. He reiterated his commitment to uplifting young people in Kwara Central and beyond.

He said, “I commend the resilience of Nigerian youths and their accomplishments in various fields. Their significant contributions to national and global progress are greatly appreciated.''.

He also advised the youth to channel their knowledge and skills into ventures that would develop society and country at large.

Represented by Abdulkareem Alabi, the senator said that the training was the second in the series by the foundation.

He said the skills acquired would add value to the participants, and commended the large turnout.

He also enjoined the youth to effectively utilise the knowledge gained.

The participants were trained in photography, videography, digital marketing, content-creation and social media management.
