Kwara State Governor Presents N1m Cash Award to Student for WAEC Excellence
According to a news report from Leadership, Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has honored Shalom Adesina with a cash award of one million naira for his exceptional performance in the 2023 West African Examinations Council (WAEC-Internal).
Adesina, a student at Rehoboth College in Ilorin, secured distinctions in all subjects he sat for in the examination.
The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa'adatu Modibbo-Kawu, presented the cash award to Adesina at a ceremony held at the ministry's conference hall in Ilorin.
Governor Abdulrazaq highlighted that the purpose of the award was to encourage and support Adesina in his academic pursuits. He commended Adesina for bringing pride to the state and noted that such an achievement warranted encouragement and motivation.
In his remarks, the Principal of Rehoboth College, Mr Sheidu AbdulMalik, expressed appreciation to the governor for his kind gesture.
The award recipient and his parents, Mr and Mrs Oluropo Adeshina, thanked the state government for the cash award, appealing that it continue in the same direction.
