Kwara State Government Equips Local Healthcare with 16 Ambulances

Date: 2024-05-08

According to a news report from Daily Trust, the government has allocated one ambulance to each local government area (LGA) in the state to enhance emergency healthcare response at the grassroots level.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq highlighted that the provision aimed to fortify the health emergency response system, particularly in Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs), across the state.

He explained that, “This is the initiative of the local government areas. It is their money. It is basically to support the health services, especially the Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs).”

The state's Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Jide Ashonibare, said the intervention would improve healthcare services across the LGAs.
