Pharmacists Associations Treat Over 200 Vulnerable Persons for Malaria
According to a news report from the Voice of Nigeria, the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Kwara branch, has provided free malaria treatment to more than 200 vulnerable individuals in Bode-Saadu, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
This medical outreach, organized by the ACPN, aligns with the 2024 World Malaria Day (WMD) theme: “Accelerating the Fight Against Malaria for a More Equitable World.”
The outreach included free treatment using the recommended Artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) drugs, deworming, and counseling.
The most vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, infants, and children under five years of age, have benefited from this initiative.

“Malaria has serious health challenge for the nation. The outreach was part of ACPN's commitment toward reducing the malaria impact.
“The most vulnerable people include pregnant women, infants and children less than five years of age.”
She advised residents to use Long Lasting Insecticidal Mosquito Nets and keep their environment clean to prevent breeding of mosquitoes.
Earlier in his remarks, Alhaji Aliu Gambari, the Daudu of Bode-Saadu, commended the pharmacists for the health intervention.
He appealed to the association to continue to extend their health interventions to the community, and prayed God to replenish members for the expenses.
